RYA Advanced Powerboat
This course is aimed at professional and leisure boaters looking to undertake more challenging coastal passages during the day and at night.
The course will be run using one of our 8m RIBs and will cover navigation at planning speed, weather and other key aspects of skippering powerboats.
It is expected that you will have a strong theoretical knowledge as well as the required powerboat driving experience necessary to successfully complete this course.
This course includes a night passage.
Commercial Endorsement
The RYA Advanced Powerboat certificate cannot be commercially endorsed. If you require the commercial endorsement you will need to complete the Advanced Powerboat Exam. In this case please contact the office on 0333 1234 303.

- Night cruising
Minimum Standard
Minimum Standard: Competent to the standard of Intermediate Powerboat and a thorough knowledge of navigation and chartwork to the level of Coastal Skipper/RYA Yachtmaster Theory. It is also strongly recommended that candidates hold a first aid certificate and a VHF/SRC Operators certificate.
Minimum Age: 17yrs (under 18yr olds will only be accepted onto the course if they are accompanied by an adult on the same course)
