RYA Powerboat Instructor
An RYA Powerboat Instructor is a competent, experienced powerboater, who has been trained to teach powerboating up to RYA Powerboat Level 2. If you hold the RYA Safety Boat you can also teach the RYA Safety Boat course.
COURSE INFORMATION
Duration: 4 days (1 day pre-entry skills assessment, 3 day Instructor course)
Time: 9.30am-4.30pm approx.
Max students: 6 per course
Min age: 18yrs
Pre-requisites: Valid First Aid certificate; RYA Powerboat Level 2; Health declaration form or medical questionnaire
Experience: Five seasons experience powerboating (preferably in a range of boat types and sizes) OR one season for those who use powerboats as an integral part of their normal full-time occupation.
Skills Pre-entry Assessment: Candidates must be at the required standard as laid out in the RYA Power Schemes Instructor Handbook (G19)
The first day of this course is the pre-entry skills assessment. Please note that if you do not pass the assessment, you may be refused participation on the three-day instructor course
